All this time people with sight problems such as glaucoma are difficult to exercise. There are few exercises that can be done without making his condition worsened, one of them is by aerobic. Glaucoma is a sight disorder that is usually caused by increased pressure on the eyeball. This is caused by an imbalance between the production and disposal of fluid in the eyeball. This imbalance causes damage to the soft tissue nerves on the retina and on the back of the eyeball.
The more people are active in physical exercise such as aerobics, jogging and cycling, it’s becoming more interesting to be able to identify whether there is an exercise limitation or not and efforts of preventing the exercise effects on eye pressure.
To find out about that, the tests are performed on glaucoma patients who did aerobic exercise with or without using a variety of eye drops to treat their glaucoma. The study involved 100 healthy people and 45 glaucoma patients. A significant reduction in eye pressure occurs after doing the aerobic exercise. The aerobic exercise that is not too heavy can reduce the eye pressure on glaucoma patients who are using anti-glaucoma drops.
The aerobic exercises that are not too heavy like walking, jogging or cycling regularly has proven useful and can be applied to glaucoma patients. The next step on this research is to identify other types of exercise and its effects on eye pressure, especially for patients who were under treatment of glaucoma.
