Types of Immunization that are already provided by the government for routine immunizations are: Hepatitis B, Polio, BCG, DPT, Measles and vaccine for pilgrims. Types of immunization that are still unavailable are: Hib, Pneumococcal, Influenza, Typhoid Fever, MMR, Chicken pox, Hepatitis A and Cervical Cancer (HPV).
Hepatitis B Immunization is to prevent hepatitis B virus that can attack and damage the liver. If you ignored, then it can become a liver cancer. Polio Immunization is to prevent the attack of polio virus which can cause paralysis. BCG immunization is to prevent tuberculosis, glands, bones and brain inflammation that can cause death or disability.
DPT immunization is to prevent three kinds of disease, such as: Diphtheria, Pertussis and Tetanus. Diphtheria can cause swelling and obstruction in the respiratory tract and put out kind of toxin that can paralyze the heart muscle. Pertussis can cause severe respiratory infections (pneumonia). Tetanus germs will put out toxins that attack the body’s muscle nerve, so the muscles become stiff and difficult to move and breathe.
Severe measles can cause severe pneumonia, diarrhea or brain inflammation (meningitis). Hib and pneumococcal immunization is able to prevent severe respiratory tract infection (pneumonia) and brain inflammation (meningitis). Influenza immunization can prevent severe influenza.
Typhoid fever immunization is able to prevent severe typhoid fever. MMR immunization is to prevent diseases like: Mumps (mumps, testicle inflammation), morbili (measles) and Rubella (German measles). Chicken pox immunization (varicella) is to prevent chicken pox (varicella).
Hepatitis A immunization is to prevent liver inflammation due to Hepatitis A virus. HPV immunization is to prevent cervical cancer. For infants / children, the chance of being infected by these diseases is greater if they are not immunized.
