Most people who want to be slim or even more who suffer from diabetes is very concerned about the content of carbohydrate in their diet. We can assume that, the less the consumption of carbohydrates then it will create faster or healthier slim. It is the same as the level of fat. This assumption is not entirely true, though not entirely wrong, too. One of the reason is the body needs enough carbohydrate for metabolism.
Less consumption of carbohydrates (or excessive) can cause body symptoms that could endanger the health or increase the fat piles if it is done continuously. So it is not true that eating fewer carbohydrates would make you slim and healthier, because there is a minimal amount of carbohydrate that should be consumed by the body.
To understand better about the second reason was, then there are measures that we should know that is the levels / the index of glycemic. Glycemic index is a real measure of response of blood sugar in one meal. Or in other words, glycemic index is an impact of total meal against blood sugar and not only related to the carbohydrates, but also fat, protein and fiber.
Foods such as bread, sugar and coca cola contain high glycemic level, meaning those foods can quickly raise the blood sugar. While foods that mostly contain lots of carbohydrates, but have a low glycemic level, among them are like nuts, legumes, vegetables, and fruits. Also the special rice for diet and diabetes which are quite expensive.
When we consume foods that have a low glycemic level, although it contains large amounts of carbohydrates, our blood sugar will not rapidly increased and we’re also not going to be fat.
