Teeth filing is sometimes done to flatten the teeth or cutting teeth that are too long for having good appearance. Health sciences suggest that to be cautious to filing the teeth because there are risks that can be suffered. Things to notify in teeth filing is the thickness of tooth enamel. Reduced enamel will make teeth are more easily damaged. Teeth file that had been carried out usually erode enamel or the tip of the tooth, so the email layer is reduced. Enamel is the outer layer of the teeth and it is formed by cells called ameloblast.
Function of enamel is to prevent tooth from having cavity. If after been filed, remaining layer of the teeth still far from the pulp, that is the center of tooth that consists of nerves and blood vessels, then this is no problem for doing it. But it is different when the thickness of the enamel is already thin.
For that reason teeth file must be done by a doctor or specialist. If the thickness of enamel does not allow to be filed, then the teeth should not be file. Because there is no benefit to be gained from this thing, but in fact can damage someone’s teeth.
